A Little About Me

Professional Life

For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a teacher (and a doctor, dancer, and photographer). Teaching is my true calling. I am a 2002 graduate of Alma College where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education, along with my Early Childhood ZA Endorsement. In 2006 I completed my Master's program online through Michigan State with a Master of Arts in Education degree. I currently hold a State of Michigan Professional Teaching Certificate.

Millington Community Schools hired me to teach Young-5's right after graduation. The following year I was transferred across town to St. Paul Lutheran School to teach Art and Technology to 1st-6th graders. The program was then extended through 8th grade. Kindergarten technology classes were added for a few years as well. I bridged the gap between the public and parochial schools and built successful programs at St. Paul for twelve and a half years.

Since moving to Charlevoix in 2016, I have continued teaching art by hosting step-by-step painting classes, leading summer camps at Crooked Tree Art Center, and teaching 3-5 year old students in my Pre-K class at St. Mary School.

Personal Life

I married my high school sweetheart in 2005 and together

we enjoy hiking at various destinations around Michigan and spending time with our family. My niece and nephew are my pride and joy. We have fun creating art, playing outside, and making each other laugh.
